Our checklist

  • Check exterior penetrations and structure junctions for water ingress, e.g. fence fixings, downpipes fixings, hose taps, pergola attachments
  • Review balustrade and parapet top edges with your roof painting Auckland experts to ensure they have either a purpose-made cap flashing or a liquid membrane
  • Glass, rubber and aluminium mitres may have receded and may no longer be water-resistant
  • Joinery should still have flexible sealants
  • Check all sealants and silicone are still sealed and retain flexibility

  • Review bases of cladding clearances to allow water to flow away
  • Verify that no wind-driven rain can enter and window head flashings are sealed
  • Look for cracks, fractures and cladding movement, and check if new flashings need to be installed
